TruSpark Emerges from a Transformative and Proven Science
TruSpark launched in 2022 with a slick online app and digital curriculum, but the science underlying this tool has a robust history of over sixty years of research and practical applications.
Although it’s a relative newcomer to the world of teenagers, the longstanding and transformative science of SIMA (System for Identifying Motivated Abilities) has a rich legacy of inspiring adults with the message of core motivations. For over half a century, pastors, authors, ministry leaders, college students, and various professionals have felt the life-changing power of aligning their roles with their inner motivations.
Here are examples of well-known personalities and organizations impacted by SIMA:
Rick Warren
Heralded as “one of the best-selling nonfiction books in publishing history,” Rick Warren’s The Purpose Driven Life was inspired by his exposure to SIMA.
Max Lucado
Max Lucado was inspired by his own experience with the SIMA story-based process to preach a sermon series on understanding your motivations. Later those sermons were used as the basis of his book Cure for the Common Life and an accompanying small group guide.
Fellowship Bible Church Dallas and a number of other campus churches co-developed a tool called Discover Your Design to inform their approach to volunteer engagement. This tool was heavily influenced by SIMA.
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship
InterVarsity Christian Fellowship uses SIMA’s approach for hiring all its leaders.
Cru (formerly Campus Crusade for Christ)
After Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ (now called Cru), went through the SIMA story process, Cru trained two internal human resource leaders to use the tool for all management hiring.
SIMA International has used its story-based approach for job recruiting in over 600 Christian non-profits, parachurch organizations, Christian colleges, and relief agencies. Over 20 Christian colleges and universities are using the college version of the tool with students for career and personal counseling, student leadership, and student life. And SIMA’s story-based motivational tool has been used for the purpose of evaluating, matching, and hiring over 160 pastors.
